Today, we’re proud to announce the release of these new features on the fully tested and validated system that integrates an intelligent infrastructure foundation from Dell Technologies with Azure Stack HCI OS from Microsoft.
Innovate everywhere
To focus on innovation, you need to expand supported workloads and use cases. As an agent of the business, IT needs to be empowered to support transactional and analytical workloads with the performance, scalability, resiliency, and efficiency only delivered by modern infrastructure.
We understand this, and to help you innovate everywhere, we’ve expanded Integrated System portfolio to include AX-6515 and AX-7525 node options with AMD EPYCTM 2nd generation processors. The high-density, high performance CPUs allow you to handle challenging workloads within a small infrastructure footprint, whether you are running resource intensive workloads with high performance storage needs or running lightweight applications at the edge.
Drive efficiency
While focusing on innovation, you want to keep the ship running smoothly by optimizing operations, so you can avoid delays that could impact transformation projects or possibly the entire value chain. To keep the infrastructure operational and efficient, you need to find ways to automate provisioning and delivery.
This is why Dell Technologies has introduced factory installed Azure Stack HCI OS across all Integrated System configurations in order to remove the need for customers to install the OS on their own. By reducing the complexity of installation and the reliance on professional services or the support team, you can focus valuable resources on other high-value tasks, and make IT a true champion of the business.
We’ve also delivered operational efficiency in our new configurations through the Dell EMC OpenManage Integration with Microsoft Windows Admin Center extension to deliver management features and seamless lifecycle management using Cluster-Aware updating of OS, BIOS, firmware, and drivers. To improve the serviceability experience and streamline operations, we have also introduced the call home features for Azure Stack HCI.
Execute confidently
One of the most valuable assets of your business is its data and it makes sense you want to protect it. Our new Azure Stack HCI configurations with AMD EPYCTM processors include enhanced data security features embedded at the processor-level with AMD Infinity guard which protect confidentiality and integrity of data and memory encryption. When combined with existing data protection and security features from Dell Technologies such as Bitlocker & Shielded VMs, Secure Erase & Secure Boot, Lock Server Configuration and Firmware, you will be able to execute your workloads confidently with intrinsic security across the entire stack.
With the combined engineering and support expertise of Dell Technologies, Microsoft and AMD, we have been able to come together to deliver a powerful Azure Stack HCI solution, and will continue to deliver innovations and provide peace of mind for our customers evolving needs.
As Raghu Nambiar, Corporate Vice President of Datacenter Ecosystems and Solutions at AMD states, “AMD works with the best in the industry to help customers experience the innovations and performance in our AMD EPYC processors. A perfect example is our collaboration with Dell Technologies and Microsoft to deliver Microsoft Azure Stack HCI solutions. The deep engineering relationships across our companies allows for the integration of the innovative features designed into our processors. This enhances the experience of Azure Stack HCI, helping to deliver excellent performance and scalability, while enabling advanced security to our customers.”
